The next meeting of the partners of the international project ON-FARM: Production and processing of food with added value for local small and medium-sized farmers took place these days. The meeting of the partners of the ON-FARM project, which is led by the Association of Private Agriculture of the Czech Republic and which started in practice at the beginning of this year, took place in Prague and the partners had the opportunity to meet in person for the first time. The two-day meeting was thus used to discuss the current status of the project outputs. Currently, the first output – a comparative analysis of the situation in the partner countries, the so-called “White Paper” – is in the final stage of preparation. Next, the partners focused on planning and conceptualizing the follow-up output, which is the collection of good practice examples in the area of yard sales or the so-called “Farm to Fork” strategy.

On the second day of the meeting, a visit was made to the Cihlář Farm in Milošovice near Zruč nad Sázavou, which won the Farm of the Year 2020 award. The farm is primarily involved in dairy cattle breeding. They sell part of their milk to a dairy, as they process the maximum volume of milk that current conditions allow. A significant proportion of the milk, approximately 25 % of the total production, is processed on the farm, where they have their own dairy where they produce a wide range of dairy products from kefir, yoghurt and yoghurt milk to many types of fresh and aged cheese. Mr. Cihlář readily shared his story and experience with the partners, answered additional questions and the partners also had the opportunity to taste some of their products. Thank you very much for this opportunity!
