The third project meeting of the international project consortium of the ON-FARM, coordinated by the Association of Private Agriculture of the Czech Republic, took place in Granada, Spain.
The first project output was presented at the meeting, a summary report consisting of four documents. The first and main one is an international version containing data from all partner countries. However, other versions of this document have been produced for use at the national level, focusing on selected partner countries: the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, and Germany. At the moment, all partners are working on completing the translations and the English versions are already available online. The second project output – the case studies – is also in the final stages of data collection, validation, and checking. At the same time, work has started on the third project output, which is the production of the nowadays very popular podcasts.
On the second day of the meeting, the project partners visited the Valley & Vega farm distribution center near Granada, which brings together almost two dozen farms in the area. Twice a week they order specific products from farmers based on demand and then distribute them together. They have their own delivery service in Granada and also deliver twice a week throughout Spain. In addition to the distribution centre, they have also set up an e-commerce centre, which offers their consumers direct access to their own products (fruit, vegetables and many others) and also allows them to meet their customers in person.
